1) Very Short Delay (Slap Delay) with Little Send Volume to Fatten Up Lead Vocals and Make Them a Bit More Stereo Sounding
– Generally from 40ms to Max 80ms (Around 1/16 but Not Synced)
- the Short Delay can be in Ping Pong Delay, but Better Use Different Values Per Side than Ping Pong to Create a Stereo Slap
- No Feedback, i.e. a Single Repeat Does it
- Filter the Slap, Distort it, Optionally Send the Slap to a Mono Plate (or Keep Plate Stereo but then Invert L/R on Slap Before Sending Slap)
2) Throw Delay Echo, i.e. Echo on Certain Words or on AdLibs
– Typically Roland Echo Space in 1/4 or 1/8
3) Finally 1/8 Delay on Backing Vocals (on Each Backing Track) with Ducking Effect
- i.e. Ducking Either Right Inside the Plugin if Available or then Put a Compressor Right After the Delay (or Reverb) and SC the Original Vocal so when the Original Vocal Hits the Delay Gets Ducked
