- Guitar May Interfere with Bass in the Lows but you Should Not Just Cut the Lows of the Guitar
- Viceversa Bass May Interfere with Guitar in the Highs but Bass Actually Needs Even More Highs
Workflow
1) First Insert EQ on the Guitar
- i.e. Get Some of the Bass Out by Dip with a Peak Band Around 50Hz and also Dip with a Low Shelf-7dB Around 20Hz with a Q of 0.3
- Add Some Weight Around 100Hz and Brightness Around 2200kHz, Use the Brightness Peak Band Around 2200kHz in Dynamic Mode (i.e. Where the Attack of the Guitar is)
2) Now Insert EQ on the Bass and Enhance with Peak Bands Around 70Hz, 260Hz, 1kHz and 6kHz (All by Max 3dB, Rather Broad Default Q)
- Use the Lowest Peak Band Around 70Hz in Dynamic Mode with a Q of 1 (i.e. Where the Body Attack of the Bass is), i.e. this Way Only the Attack Part of the Bass is Emphasised Dynamically
3) Now Insert a Multiband Compressor on the Guitar Buss and SC the Bass into it
- i.e. the Idea is that the Guitars Multiband Compressor Reacts on the Bass and thus Ducks in the Bass Region when the Bass is Playing
- Set the Band to Only the Frequency Range Where the Bass and Guitar are Clashing the Most (e.g. Around 300Hz) with a GR of About 2dB to 4dB
4) Insert a Multiband Expander on the Bass and Actually Expand the Attack of the the Bass Around 1500kHz
- i.e. when Bass Player Plays a Note with More Attack the Expander Reacts and Emphasizes the Attack
5) Insert a Saturator on the Bass and Emphasise the Upper Mids of the Bass to Give the Bass More Brightness
6) Insert a Saturator on the Guitar and also Emphasize the Upper Mids of the Guitar to Give the Guitar More Fullness
