• When you Place a Sound in a Stereo Mix with L+R Speakers to the Mid Position there is Basically No Speaker (in the Mid) and this is Called the Phantom Mid

• in Order to Create Depth you Need to Create a Wall Behind the Speakers, then you can Create Space by Positioning Elements, e.g. Singer in Front -> Snare Behind Singer -> Bass Behind Snare etc.

• i.e. Basically as if You Would Put the Elements on to Multiple Speakers that Each Sit Further and Further Away

• for this we Use an Algorithmic Reverb which Synthesizes a Room Out of the Input Signal

• or a Convolution Reverb that has Baked In All Aspects of a Room, Notice that Static Convolution IRs will of Course Sound Static and Always the Same on Your Material

– Try Dense / Warm Chamber IR (e.g. Hofa v1 Large Dense Chamber) or Dark Rooms

– What you Could Do is Use the Convolution to Place e.g. a Orchestral Snare to the Back and then Add a Algorithmic to Add Life
