Calculate Pre Delay Milliseconds per BPM

  •  Remember that Pre Delay is the Amount of Time between the Original Sound (Dry Origin Signal) and the Audible Onset of the Actual Effect / Reverberation by a Plugin (or Real World of course)

1) First Turn 60 Seconds (1 Minute) into Milliseconds which is 60´000 ms

2) Then simply divide 60´000 by your Project BPM, this Tells us How many Milliseconds are in Each Beat

3) For Example 60´000 / 120 BPM = 500ms (per Beat respective Quarter Note)

4) Note that Western Music mostly Quarter Note per Beats are used (means it is got to be something with 4th Time such as 3/4 or 4/4 etc.)

4) Now you may Divide these 500ms (Quarter Notes) through 4 again to get 1/16

5) For Example 500 / 4 = 125ms which is 1/16 Beat

6) Note that Reverb is Not the same as Delay, because it Travels at a much Higher Speed (Remember that after more than 16 Echoes per Second you donut get Echoes anymore and the Signal Turn into a Verb)

7) So if we Divide 125ms again through 4 = 1/64 of a Beat = 31.25ms, which is a kind a Smallest Number in Producing (ignoring Stutter Effects which are Divided even further)

8) Note that we Round up to 32ms to get it After the Beat and Join easier Calculation

8) So 1/64 (32ms at 120BPM) are actually Optimal Pre Delay Values which are used in Reverb Units 

9) Means with 1/64 (32ms) as the a Usable Fraction, you can Double it to get 1/32 (64ms), Double it to get 1/16 (128ms), Double it to get 1/8 (256ms), Double it to get 1/4 (512ms), Double it to get 1/2 (1024ms), Double it to get 1/1 (2048ms)
