1) Reduce 2-3dB Around 500Hz (Mud) with Q of 2
2) Reduce 2-3dB Around 1500Hz (Nasal) with Q of 2
3) Reduce 2-3dB Around 2500Hz (Harsh) with Q of 2
4) Control Length of Bassdrum with a Frequency Selective Transient Designer
– i.e. Often Shorten Bassdrum
5) Add Parallel Distortion via Vulture Culture
– i.e. First Insert a Linear Phase EQ to the Parallel Buss with a Low Cut Below 220Hz and then Add Vulture Culture (P1 Mode)
- Use a Post EQ on the Parallel Bus and Reduce 1500Hz a Little (Clean Added Nasal Part of Distortion)
6) Render Out the Drum With Those Processes (Including Parallel Distortion) and then Further EQ (Reduce) as Desired
- e.g. Clean 150Hz / 660Hz / 1400Hz / 1500Hz
7) Make Drums Wider with Stage One between 800Hz and 4000Hz
8) Add a SSL G Bus Comp with 2:1/ Attack 30 / Release 100 / SC 80Hz
9) Add a Color EQ to Give Body and Warmth with Only 3 Band
- e.g. Push with Low Shelf from 40Hz / Reduce at 2000Hz by 1dB to 2dB / Push at 10kH
10) If the Snare Hits Not Better than the Original Add a Frequency Selective Transient Designer and Push Snare Transients
