5 Panned Reverb Ideas

in

Method 1

  • Send Original to 1 Reverb Panned Fully Left and the Other Panned Fully Right

    – i.e. Basically Apply the Same Large Hall or Plate Reverb but then Change Pre Delay and Room Size (and Some Other Small Things) to Make Them Sound Different

    Method 2

    • Pan Signal Hard Left or Right (or 45°) and Apply Mono Reverb to the Same Position as the Original
      • i.e. Prepare 3 Mono EMT140 Like Plate and Pan them LCR (or 45°), then Assign Instruments / Vocals as Required

      Method 3

      • Pan Signal Hard Left or Right and Apply Mono Reverb to the Opposite Position as the Original

        Method 4

        • Send Signal to 1 Stereo Plate and to 1 Mono Plate that has a Longer Decay

          – as the Stereo Plate Decays, the Reverb Seems to Tail Off in the Center

          Method 5

          • Send Any Instrument that is Panned Hard Left also to a Stereo Reverb that is Panned Hard Left (or Viceversa)

            – i.e. Keep the Majority of the Reverb on the Left (when Choosing to Pan Hard Left), but Let the Stereo Ambience Move also a Little Back Towards Center

            – Always Prefer First the Same Position as the Original to Manifest from Where the Original Sound is Coming

            – or then Alternative the Very Opposite Side which can Give Width / Space

            – but Not Send a Hard Panned Instrument to a Stereo Reverb that is Panned to the Center as this Get Fast Washy
