General

– Most Resonances Occur between 200Hz and 800Hz

– if You Realise the Problem can Not be Solved, Trans the Idea of Fixing it Like that and Look for the Fundamental Problem

– i.e. Too Many EQ Points and / or Using Many EQs Cause Phase Issues

– Make the Cut Never Too Sharp and with Maximal -4dB

– Resonances are Difficult to See or be Analysed on a FFT Meter, i.e. Its Something You Should Train by Ear

– as Always, EQuing is Best Done by Listening to the Whole Track (and Not in Solo Mode, if then Just Occasionally)

Workflow

1) Boost by 5dB with a Wide Q of 1 and Scroll Thought the Frequency Spectrum

    2) When you Hear an Overall Resonant Area, Increase Q to 2.5 to Closer Pinpoint the Exact Area

      3) Finally Increase Q to 5 to Fine Pinpoint the Most Resonant Area and Cut by 3dB with Q at 5

        4)  Sometimes it Hard if the Resonances are the Results of Multiple Signals Coming Together

        – Therefore its Best to Group Similar Tracks into “Sound Families” (e.g. Metallic Sounds / Organic Percussion / Synths etc.) and EQ Them Altogether

        – Grouping Helps Fixing Final Issues, Allocate Space and also Place Sounds From to Back
