2) Use a Reference Tool (e.g. ADPTR), Load the Original Mix to Have a A/B Comparison and Make Sure the Master Steps You Make have a Positive Progress
– also Load In Dedicated Reference Tracks to Get an Overall Direction Before Starting to Master
3) Make Notes of the Things you Need to Address the Issues that Need to be Fixed in the Master
4) Start Inserting the Final Limiter and Bring the Track to the Desired Target Loudness
– Overall Suggestion is to Match -14 LUFS Integrated (which Servers for Most Streams)
– for a Club Mix, You can Aim a Short Term (Last 3 Seconds) Loudness of Around -9 LUFS (to Maximal -7 LUFS)
– or Scherer / Cronologia Short Max Term Loudness is from -18 to -11 (with Most Around 11/12/13)
– e.g. Let Play Through the Whole Song and when Target is Below -14 LUFS, Increase the Limiter to Reach -14 LUFS (Where a Tolerance from 0.2 to 04 dB is OK)
– if However the Signal is Over -14 LUFS, Either Adjust Limiter and / or Go Back to Project to Reduce the Parts that Peak the Track Obviously the Most)
5) Follow by Fixing the Issues from the Notes you Made, or Fix Things you Instantly Hear
– Use Any Known Tool you have, Use the One that Touches the Mix Positive and then Dial In the Best Settings
6) Start Soon to “Fix Resonances” via EQ and / or Dynamically
7) Then Search for Frequencies that when Boosted Add More Energy
8) Add a Compressor to Glue Things and Add Energy
– when the Compressor Does Good but also Enhances High Frequencies Too Much, Adjust that at the “Fix Resonances” Stage
9) Optionally Use Bassroom to Add Bit Clarity to Low End
