– Suited for Material that has Kick and Bass
– the Idea is to Start the Mix with Kick and Bass and Set an Optimal Balance Regarding Low End Using a VU Meter
– Both Together Should Not Cross the 0 VU Mark
– the Theory Behind is that 2 Identical Kick Drums Would Increase by About 3dB in Volume
Workflow
1) Insert a VU Meter on a Bus Where Kick & Bass Come Together
– Set VU Meter to the Default -18dB VU
2) Play the Kick and Raise Its Volume so the VU Meter Kisses the -3 VU Mark
3) Add the Bass and Match its Level so Both Together, Bass and Kick Do Not Cross the 0 VU Mark
