Tips to Apply Invisible Reverb

General

• Use Headphones if you are Not in a Perfect Treated Acoustic Space

• Be Careful Setting Up Final Reverb During Mixing as in Mastering the Quietest Things Get Way Louder and so Does the Reverb Tail 

• the Idea is that You Don’t Hear it but when You Mute the Send You Really Feel there is Missing Something

• Make Use of A / B Settings Wherever Possible, i.e. You Dial In 2 Subtle but Different Reverb Settings and then Compare via A / B

Workflow

1) Adjust Pre Delay

2) Increase Send (Starting from Zero) Until You Really Hear the Reverb on Top of the Signal, i.e. You Hear that this Sound has Reverb On it (e.g. Send Amount of -10)

3) Then Again Go Back to Zero with the Send, Increase Send (Starting from Zero Again) Until You Barely Hear the Reverb (e.g. Send Amount of -14)

4) Now Back Off that Second Turn a Few dBs, i.e. Reduce Send Amount of -14 to About -15 or -16 so the Reverb Part Sits Underneath the Dry Sound

5) Bandpass the Reverb to Optimize Clarity, e.g. Low Cut at 140Hz with a 12dB Slope and Hi Cut at 6000Hz with a 24dB Slope

6) Adjust ER vs Late

7) Tune Reverb if Available, e.g. Use Temper Option (Temperance) to Tune Reverb
