Gated FX Tricks on Loops

in

– if you Want a Big Sound or FX but without the Reverb Tail or Overlapping FX

– Same Technique as Gated Reverb, but with a 2nd Gate and EQ / Compressors 

– can Give that Extra to Any Single Sound Inside a Track

1) Send the Signal to a FX Group at a Custom Send Level (Cubase Group Channel is also OK)

– and the Initial Output to Main Mix Remains of Course

2) Insert Following Plugins into the Bus / Group Channel

EQ = Cut Out the Frequencies that Should Not Go into the Gated Reverb (e.g. Kick or Low Frequencies)

Comp = to Balance Signal (can be at xxx Position)

Gate 1 = Extract / Shape with Proper Gate Settings the Loop Elements you Want to Sent into the Gated Reverb (i.e. Snare, Hat, Kick)

Reverb = Insert your Reverb or FX at 100% Wet or Parallel if so (can be at any Reverb Length as we Cut it Afterwards)

Gate 2 = Cut the Reverb Length or FX to the Desired Beats with Another Gate
