Electronic Music for Online Video Tips

in
  • When Export Video with Audio, Keep the Audio as Linear PCM when Possible as the File Gets Compressed to Lossy Formats Anyways when Upload to a Service  (i.e. you Would Get Double Compression)
  • Compare Mp3 vs AAC as 1 Track Might Sound Better with Mp3 and the Other Track Might Sound Better with AAC, i.e. Listen to How the Codecs Treat the Pitch of the Sound
  • Notice that Except for Facebook and Instagram All Streaming Services Do Loudness Normalisation
  • it is Important to Match the Required Integrated Loudness Targets, i.e. it is to Match Loudness as Best as Possible (Loudness Penalty Plugin is an Option that Tells You How the Track will be Treated per Service, i.e. when the Track is Turned Down it Shows Up as Penalty)
  • it is Advised to Make 1 Absolute Pretty Loud Master Towards -8 / -9 LUFS and then Prepare that Master for the Different Services
  • be Sure to Preserve those -1 or -2 LUFS TP Headroom Before the Lossy Codec Conversion as this Conversion will Clip
  • Notice that Some Services May Collapse your Track to Mono which can Lead to +3dB and if you are Already at the Maximum or You have Only 1dB of Headroom Your Track Gets Distorted
  • i.e. this is Something You Must Check but Never Introduce 4dB of Headroom Because of this
  • but What you Should Consider is to Make a Spoken Only Online Video in Mono, i.e. when there is No Reason for Stereo Make it in Mono as Mono will Not Lead to Unexpected Downmix
  • if the Service Runs at 44.1kHz, the Audio to the Video Should be Delivered in 44.1kHz, i.e. Deliver the Track(s) in the Sample Rate of the Respective Service

–  Export the Audio at 32Bit in Almost Every Situation

  • Whenever you have the Option to Check, Do it, Get as Many Devices as you can to Test, be the Enduser Upload to the Service, Make it Private and Check
