Method 1
- 1073 Pre Amp Input Gain
- Tape Saturation = Either After Pre Amp or as Last Insert
- Send Parallel to Amp (e.g. Op Amp 21), Optionally Use De-Esser and EQ to Filter Out Esses and Mud Going into Amp, or Viceversa Use EQ Prior Saturation to Boost Certain Frequencies
- Multiband Saturation
- Saturation on Delays and Reverb, i.e. Saturate the Delay Signal Only
- Extra Saturation on Background Vocals
Method 2
- Tube Compressor as Insert, Light Overall Compression
- Squashed Parallel Compression via FX Pre Fader Send (i.e. to Send Exact Same Volume of Vocal to Parallel Compressor), Fastest Attack / Fastest Release / Strongest Ratio / EQ with Low Cut Around 150Hz and Hi Shelf +5dB Around 3kHz
- Automate Parallel Compression, i.e. Look at Waveform and Increase Parallel Channel on Low Level Vocal Passages and Viceversa
- Add Tube Plugin Directly After Parallel Compressor, i.e. this Adds More Harmonics to the Compressed Signal and you can Use the Existing Parallel Channel
