Absolute (Perfect) vs Relative Pitch

in

Perfect Pitch

– If you Hear a Pitch and Immediately Name it

– without any Reference Point

– is Rare but can be Developed to a Certain Extent

Relative Pitch

– your Mind Needs to Reference a Heard Pitch to Another Pitch First, Before Name it

You are Capable of Hearing the Interval, but you need to Transpose whats in your Mind to the Correct Key of Song from the Relative Pitch

– i.e. you Need to Figure Out First the Exact Reference Out from the Given Absolute Pitch

– can be Developed at any Time with Consequent Ear Training

– Some Say that Relative Pitch is More Useful as you Recognize Relationships which Helps for Songwriting or Improvisation etc.
