– Sample & Hold Works in the Control Voltage Range (VCA) and Samples from a Voltage Circuit, but can Do Stuff in the Audio Range as well
– it Samples the Inputs Amplitude Value at a Particular Time at your Specified “Clock Rate” and it is gonna Hold at that Value, till it gets the Next Clock Tick (e.g. Clock Tick at 1 Second)
– i.e. S&H Takes a Sample at a Stage of the Waveform and Holds it until the Next Cycle, therefore Varying the Amplitude of the Pulse Wave Each Time
– basically it is a Square Wave with the Amplitude of Every Cycle Different from the Previous Cycle (this Variation is Random at Every Cycle)
– thus a Signal is Needed so the “Sample & Hold” Feature has something to “Sample” (e.g. a Sine Wave to the S&H Input) and then you Plug into a Driver such as FM or PWM (from the S&H Output)
– Sample & Hold can have a Clock-Rate, Trigger, Switcher, Glide, an Input and Output
– it can be used to Drive anything, such as Pitch of a Oscillator, Cutoff of LFO etc.
