General
– Give the Audience a “Anchor” at the Beginning, simple as 1 Pitch Repeats between Minor Major or a Repeating 1 Note to 1 Note Interval
– Do Not Rely on Complex Progressions a Listener has to Follow Right from the Start
– Feel the Audience / Story / Film (Beside of Your Intention)
– use the Types of Character from Minor, Major and Suspension Effectively
– also use Just ”Outline” Notes Mode to Not Expose an Obvious Chord, Rather Draw an Outline with Single Notes
Workflow
1) Find your Key and Start with a Simple Repetitive Minor to Major Progression
– Only 2 Different Chords Repeating
– if you Know where to Go you can Already Vary Tempo, Rhythmic Changes, Note Placements etc.
2) Add a 2nd Device by Repeating a Melodic 1 Note to 1 Note Interval on Top of the Progression
– “1 Note to 1 Note” means to Follow the Progression Idea, but with Little Amount of Notes Used
– this Sets the 1st Anchor Point
3) Now we have a Motif, Mirror that Motif to Reflect the Anchor Across Arrangement
– these 2 Devices Together Should Draw a Solid Foundation
4) Now “Outline” Other Fitting Chords as Single Notes on Top of All
– Play the Root of the Fitting Chords
– Sing Melodies to yourself and use them at this Stage
– Be Free and Ignore Diatonic Rules
5) This Introduces Surprising New Ways to Go
– Decide whether a Familiar Way or a New Way will Follow (means Balance Expectations or Surprises)
6) At this Point you Could Throw a New 2nd “Anchor” with the Same Principles as the 1st Anchor
